In the UK today, post covid and Brexit aside, the social care industry is experiencing an unprecedented nationwide recruitment crisis.
It is with great pride that we can announce that from April 1st 2023 Hedegrow Homecareare will be offering our carers hourly rates that are ABOVE the new Real London Living Wage. The job that our care workers do on a daily basis is extremely demanding and we feel it is only right to reward our carers for all of their efforts.
Most of our office staff were carers previously and understand the nature of the job. They have worked in tandem with our financial staff to figure out a fair and inclusive pay package for all existing and new carers. We see how care work is meaningful and extremely rewarding. The impact we have on an individuals life, seeing them smile and laugh when we greet them shows us the meaning of our work.
Our carers are out there during the day, in the middle of the night devoting themselves to caring for others. Helping them day by day to improve their quality of life. Our carers pay attention to the needs, wishes and wants of our service users. Listening to them with an openness and treating them with compassion.
Therefore our carers deserve to have an employer who looks out for them too. These are the values that Hedgerow Homecare holds.
